Boreham Wood reinforce goalkeeping with Tottenham loan of Luca Gunter

🇬🇧

Boreham Wood have bolstered their squad by securing a season‑long loan for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Luca Gunter, addressing the need for fresh goalkeeping depth as their first summer signing. The 21‑year‑old arrives with experience in both the National League and top‑flight matchday squads.

Gunter logged 14 National League appearances for Wealdstone during the latter half of the 2024‑25 season, gaining valuable senior match practice. He featured for Wealdstone in the National League.

Gunter was named on the bench for Tottenham in a Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle United. He also occupied a substitute role in a Champions League fixture versus Slavia Prague.

He has represented England at every youth level from under‑15 through to under‑20. His international pedigree adds a layer of experience to Boreham Wood's defensive line.

Gunter helped Tottenham secure the Under‑17 and Under‑18 Premier League Cup double in the 2022‑23 season. He then contributed to the Premier League 2 title win with the club's under‑21 side the following year.

The season‑long loan positions Gunter to compete for the starting goalkeeper role at Boreham Wood. His integration will be monitored as the club aims to solidify its defensive stability for the upcoming campaign.
