Real Madrid's midfield gamble: Tchouameni vows to stay

🇬🇧
Aurelien Tchouameni has confirmed he will not leave Real Madrid this summer, even though the club remains open to offers for the defensive midfielder. The Frenchman, currently focused on the FIFA World Cup, made 33 league appearances last season, completing 92% of his passes. Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Real Madrid has already produced a completely new defensive line, and the midfield is now the next area of overhaul. The Portuguese manager’s changes are described as pioneering massive dressing‑room adjustments. Los Blancos have identified clear targets for midfield reinforcement but are first focusing on players who wish to depart. Eduardo Camavinga has emerged as a top candidate to leave the club this summer. Aurelien Tchouameni, a regular starter for France at the FIFA World Cup, is also being considered, albeit with less urgency. A report by Pablo Gallego states that Tchouameni has no intention of leaving Real Madrid and is concentrating on the tournament. The situation could evolve once the World Cup concludes and the player returns to Madrid. As long as he is guaranteed a starting role, he is unlikely to entertain a move. Real Madrid are openly receptive to offers for the defensive midfielder this summer and would negotiate if the right bid appears. Premier League side Manchester United have been linked as a potential Casemiro replacement, while Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea are also monitoring his status. Last season Tchouameni recorded 33 La Liga appearances, starting 31 of them, and averaged over ten defensive actions and 4.4 ball recoveries per game. He completed 92% of his passes and created four big chances, underscoring his importance to the squad.
