Dutch FA narrows coach hunt to Slot and Ten Hag after Koeman exit

🇳🇱
At the KNVB headquarters, officials are zeroing in on two names to succeed Ronald Koeman as head coach of the Netherlands. Italian transfer journalist Nicolò Schira Arne Slot and Erik ten Hag have emerged as the front‑runners following Koeman’s Wednesday announcement. Koeman announced his departure on Wednesday, a day after the Netherlands were eliminated in the World Cup round of 16. Morocco advanced by winning the penalty shoot‑out that followed a dead‑locked . Since the vacancy opened, media outlets have mentioned several possible successors, including Peter Bosz, former Dutch defender Michael Reiziger and Spanish tactician Pep Guardiola. The KNVB, led by director of top football Nigel de Jong, says its primary focus remains on Slot and Ten Hag. Erik ten Hag currently serves as technical director of FC Twente. In that role he recently secured the transfer of Dutch international forward Wout Weghorst to the club. Arne Slot is without a club after parting ways with Liverpool earlier this year. His availability adds a distinct profile to the shortlist. Fans are invited to weigh in on the preferred candidate, with the discussion continuing in the comments section of the original report.
