Ipswich Town enter race for Hull City target Emersonn
Ipswich Town have tabled a bid for Toulouse FC forward Emersonn, joining Hull City in a race to sign the 21-year-old Brazilian. The Tractors Boys are understood to have submitted an offer to the Ligue 1 club, though the exact figure remains undisclosed.
Hull City are also pursuing Emersonn, with reports suggesting they proposed a £22.3m fee to his current club. Toulouse FC signed the forward from Turkish side Göztepe S.K. last summer, but his contract runs until June 2029, complicating any potential move.
In the 2025-26 season, Emersonn made 31 appearances for Toulouse, scoring seven goals and providing three assists across all competitions. His form has caught the attention of multiple Premier League clubs, including Ipswich Town and Hull City, both newly promoted to the top flight.
The Brazilian, who came through the ranks at Athletico Paranaense, has yet to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team plans at Real Madrid. A move to England could provide the pathway he needs to secure regular first-team football.
Emersonn is a former Brazilian Under-16 international and hails from Cachoeiro de Itapemirim. His versatility and attacking output make him a sought-after prospect among clubs in Europe’s top leagues.
Toulouse FC will now weigh their options, with two Premier League clubs vying for his signature. The club’s valuation of Emersonn remains a key factor in determining whether a deal can be struck.
For Ipswich Town, securing Emersonn would bolster their attacking options as they prepare for their Premier League return. The club’s bid signals their intent to compete at the highest level this season.
Hull City’s £22.3m proposal sets a benchmark, but Toulouse may demand more given Emersonn’s contract length and potential. The coming days will reveal whether a compromise can be reached.
