Inter’s €25m gamble: Khalaili deal edges closer as Jones chase stalls
Inter have prioritised the signing of right-winger Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise, agreeing a five-year contract worth approximately €1.7 million per season. The Serie A club have moved quickly to secure Khalaili, who had also been linked with Napoli and Como, both of whom showed interest in the Israel international.
Union SG’s valuation for Khalaili is reported to be around €30 million, but Inter aim to finalise the move without exceeding an overall €25 million outlay. The club’s urgency stems from their failure to secure other targets, including Marco Palestra’s move to Chelsea and Nico Paz’s switch to Como, which left a right-wing void to fill.
Meanwhile, Inter continue to pursue Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, whose value at Anfield is placed between €35 million and €40 million. Reports suggest Inter are prepared to table a €25-30 million offer once Khalaili’s deal is completed, with Jones in the final year of his contract at Liverpool and reportedly keen to join Inter.
The transfer saga involving Jones is captured in a photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images, showing the midfielder at Anfield during a Premier League match against Crystal Palace on April 25, 2026. The image underscores Jones’ profile as Inter weigh their options in the final weeks of the window.
