Dundee bet on youth as Odutayo signs two-year deal
Dundee have secured their first summer acquisition in former Bromley defender Idris Odutayo, signing the 23‑year‑old on a two‑year contract with an optional third year at Dens Park. The left‑sided centre‑back logged 50 matches last season, contributing to Bromley's second promotion in three years to League One before departing on a free transfer.
Odutayo left Bromley earlier this summer after his contract ran out. His departure came as the defender sought a new challenge following Bromley's promotion.
Dundee offered the 23‑year‑old a two‑year contract with a third‑year option. The agreement was finalised at Dens Park, the club’s home ground.
Manager Steven Pressley said, "He's a young player that we believe has great potential and growth." He added, "At 23 years of age, he has amassed an impressive amount of first‑team games, which I believe is pivotal in young players' development."
Pressley highlighted that Odutayo "has gained promotion in two league campaigns, which again is a very impressive statistic for one so young." The manager noted the defender's 50 appearances last season as evidence of his experience.
Pressley concluded, "I look forward to giving him the platform to continue this upwards trajectory." Dundee expect the left‑sided defender to add depth to their back line.
