Juventus eyes €13m gain as they chase Genoa’s 19‑year‑old striker

🇮🇹

Juventus face a looming void in attack with striker Dusan Vlahovic set to depart, prompting the Serie A giants to pursue Genoa’s 19‑year‑old forward Jeff Ekhator. La dello Sport says negotiations have begun and are expected to continue over the next few hours.

Juventus could achieve a €13 million capital gain from the deal. The boost would be useful for the balance sheet on the final day of the season, June 30. Club officials hope to finalise the transaction before tomorrow’s deadline.

The Bianconeri are open to including players in the swap, with Daniele De Rossi’s side receptive to the idea. Genoa have asked about Juan Cabal, who is not keen to join, opening the way for Next Gen midfielder David Puczka to become involved.

Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali told Sky that the club has a relationship with Genoa and that general discussions are under way. He added, “These are evaluations, there’s no better evening than one like this one, with the transfer window just starting and we’re getting started. But we’ll have many days together to work and understand. All of this must be done calmly and with clear ideas, without any rush.”

Ekhator has shown glimpses of his talent at Genoa and is expected to cost Juventus little. Including an outgoing player could let Juventus register the capital gain while securing a new striker before the deadline.

Discussions are set to continue over the next few hours, with both clubs aiming for a calm, clear approach. Kaustubh Pandey of GIFN notes that the final day of the season on June 30 looms, adding pressure to close the deal promptly.
