Alban Lafont Returns to Nantes Ahead of World Cup

Alban Lafont, goalkeeper of FC Nantes, returns to the Beaujoire stadium on Thursday 4 June with the Côte d’Ivoire national team. The arrival coincides with the final preparations for the World Cup.

Lafont will travel to the World Cup as part of the Côte d’Ivoire squad. His participation follows the end of his club loan.

After the tournament, Nantes expect him to resume training at the Jonelière facility during the summer. The club plans to integrate him back into the first‑team setup.

Lafont spent the previous season on a one‑year loan at Greek side Panathinaïkos. The loan covered the full 2023‑24 campaign.

The loan concluded with his return to Nantes in early June. No further loan extensions were announced.
