Betis and Atlético eye Dovbyk as Roma looks to cut ties

🇮🇹

Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk faces an uncertain future as he prepares to report to AS Roma’s Trigoria training camp on July 13. While the Giallorossi search for a permanent solution, Real Betis and Atlético Madrid have both signalled renewed interest.

Dovbyk endured a nightmare season plagued by physical problems that kept him out of Gasperini’s plans. The injuries prevented him from contributing to the coach’s attacking projects.

Gasperini, renowned for shaping forwards, has not guaranteed Dovbyk a role at Roma. The striker’s future at the Trigoria camp remains uncertain.

Club insiders now view Dovbyk more as a liability than a technical asset. Freeing a roster spot for another player appears to be the preferred option.

The 1997‑born forward, a former Girona player, is waiting for offers from La Liga, where he left strong memories. According to Corriere dello Sport, his preferred destination is Spain.

Both Real Betis and Atlético Madrid are monitoring the situation closely. They are prepared to evaluate a possible move in the coming weeks.

Dovbyk hopes to regain confidence and become central to a new coaching project, but his fate in Rome seems sealed. A move to Spain could provide the fresh start he seeks.
