Bruno Fernandes sets Premier League assist record

Bruno Fernandes set a new Premier League record with 19 assists this season for Manchester United. The Portuguese midfielder surpassed Thierry Henry’s 2002/03 record of 18 assists.

Manchester United finished eighth in the table under Erik ten Hag. Despite the club’s struggles, Fernandes was named Manchester United’s Player of the Season.

Fernandes also finished ahead of Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka for the assist leader role. Arsenal won the Premier League title.

The midfielder’s record-breaking season included assists in wins over Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle United. His final assist came in Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham on the final day.

Fernandes now holds the record for most assists in a single Premier League season. He surpassed the previous record set by Thierry Henry in 2002/03.

Next season, Manchester United will aim to improve their league position with Fernandes leading midfield creativity.
