Tony da Silva appointed Mali national team coach

Tony da Silva has been appointed head coach of the Mali national football team. The Mali Football Federation (FEMAFOOT) announced the appointment through its official channels.

FEMAFOOT said the selection met all technical criteria defined by its ad hoc committee. The federation described the appointment as a response to a triple imperative of renewal, performance and long‑term work.

Da Silva previously served as head coach of AD Oliveirense, GD Bragança, GD Vilar de Perdizes and CDC Montalegre. He also led Romanian side Politehnica Iași as the main manager.

His résumé includes assistant‑coach roles at Académico de Viseu, Freamunde and Paços de Ferreira. He was also an assistant with the Cameroon national team.

FEMAFOOT reassured supporters that the new coach will be guided by rigor, discipline and a focus on performance. The federation said this approach matches the objectives assigned to the role.

Da Silva now takes charge of one of Africa's most competitive national sides. His tenure marks a new chapter in his coaching career at the service of Mali.
