Liverpool opens Salah replacement talks for Diomande
Liverpool have opened contract talks with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande as a potential Mohamed Salah replacement.
The 19-year-old forward is seen as a long-term option to replace Salah, who is set to leave at the end of the season. Diomande joined Leipzig from Sporting CP in 2024 and has featured in 15 Bundesliga matches this season.
Liverpool sporting director Fabio Paratici is leading the pursuit for Diomande, according to reports. Paratici joined Liverpool in 2023 after previous roles at Juventus and Sampdoria.
Salah is Liverpool’s all-time top scorer with 200 goals across all competitions. His contract expires in June 2025, with no extension agreed.
Diomande has scored twice and provided one assist in his 29 appearances for Leipzig so far. He has also represented Ivory Coast at U23 level.
